MCNAIR CHOSEN AS OVC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University freshman forward Teresa McNair of Ocala, FL, has been named Ohio Valley Conference Rookie of the Week, her fourth such award this season.

In Eastern's 91-79 win over Austin Peay, McNair scored 10 points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds, while hitting 3-6 field goals, 4-6 free throws and coming up with one assist, one block and two steals.

Two days later in EKU's 74-61 win over Tennessee State, she totaled 10 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals, while hitting 4-8 from the field and 2-3 from the free throw line.

On the season, she is averaging 10.0 points and 5.0 rebounds and leads the OVC in steals with 79, while shooting 46.2 percent from the field and 71.4 percent from the free throw line.

"Teresa McNair has had a great first season of college basketball. She has meant so much to our defense with her quickness and intensity. We're looking for big things from Teresa as we head down the stretch and as we get ready for the OVC Tournament," said EKU Lady Colonel head coach Larry Joe Inman.

EKU, 11-12 overall and 8-6 in the OVC and tied for fourth place, goes on the road this week to Murray State Thursday and to UT Martin Saturday.
