RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University freshman guard Teresa McNair has been selected as this season's first Ohio Valley Conference Rookie of the Week for her efforts on the three-game swing to the state of Florida.

McNair, 5-9 native of Ocala, FL, scored 39 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, handed out five assists and came up with seven steals in the contests against Miami, Hartford and Florida International.

Her best performance came in Eastern's 96-86 win over Hartford in the Florida International Thanksgiving Classic when she scored 22 points, had three rebounds, two assists and four steals.

EKU, 2-4 on the season, opens OVC play Saturday afternoon at Morehead State at 5:15 p.m.
