LADY COLONELS SIGN LINDSAY McCLELLAN

RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball coach Larry Joe Inman has announced the signing of 6-4 ½ center Lindsay McClellan of Newark (OH) High School to a national letter-of-intent.

McClellan was Most Valuable Player at Newark as she averaged 14.0 points and 10.4 rebounds per contest in leading her team to the District 11 title. She also led the team and area in field goal percentage at 58.1 percent and was Newark High coach Dan Walters' first player in 21 years to average a double-double for the season. She had outputs of 15, 16 and 17 rebounds in three separate games this season.

"We're so pleased to have signed Lindsay. She has a lot of potential and is a great competitor," Inman said. "She had a lot of success in her high school career and was the go-to player when Newark needed a big basket. That says a lot. We're looking forward to her joining our program."

McClellan was an All-Ohio Central Conference choice this year, as well as a first-team All-District and third-team All-Ohio selection. At Newark High, she was a teammate of D'Wan Shackleford, who played as a freshman at Ohio State University last year.

She was first-team All-Dispatch, the Advocate's Player of the Year and will play in the Ohio All Star Game this summer.

McClellan also competed for Newark High's volleyball team and was a first-team All-OCC, first-team All-District and the Most Valuable Player on the NHS volleyball team. She also played in the District 11 All-Star Game and the OCC All-Star Game.
