LADY COLONELS TRAVEL TO MOREHEAD STATE SATURDAY

RICHMOND, Ky-The Eastern Kentucky University Lady Colonels will play the Morehead State University Lady Eagles this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. EST in the Ellis T. Johnson Arena. This is the second matchup between these two Ohio Valley Conference teams this season with the Lady Colonels having beaten MSU, 76-72, earlier this year.

"We were lucky enough to come back in our last game with them at home and win," said EKU head coach Larry Joe Inman.

The Lady Colonels come into Saturday's game with Morehead State in fifth place in the latest OVC standings with a league mark of 8-7, while MSU is in last place in the league with a conference record of 2-13.

"Morehead State will be psychologically and mentally ready to play," said Inman. "They are a young team that can respond."

Sophomore forward Charlotte Sizemore continues to lead EKU in scoring this season with her average of 16.9 points per game. Jennifer King, senior forward, tops Eastern in rebounding with her 7.4 per game mark and is second in scoring at 8.6 points per contest. Freshman guard Mikki Bond is the team leader in assists with 69 and in steals with 41.

Eastern will be trying to shake a three-game losing streak that began last week with road losses at Murray State (77-55), Tennessee State (70-60) and Austin Peay (74-54).

"We hope to come back and try to do a better job," said Inman.

This is the last regular season road game of the year for the Lady Colonels before they enjoy a week of home games next week, beginning with a 6:35 p.m. contest with the University of Kentucky on Tuesday in a game that will be regionally televised by FOX SportsSouth Television Network.

EKU closes its regular season with home games next Thursday at 6:30 p.m. against Tennessee Tech and next Saturday at 2:00 p.m. vs. Middle Tennessee.
